This beautiful looking breed has continued to be used for hunting, as its methodical nature makes it a great asset to hunters when it is either tracking or retrieving.
Temperament
The dog is a confident, even-tempered breed which enables it to be a good companion as well as a very good, methodical hunter. When not out hunting in the field they are a sensitive breed, becoming attached to their owners and family which makes them a loving family pet. They do however need firm, positive and consistent training to keep them under control.
