The noble-looking guardian is highly intelligent, which means that it is able to work in a variety of different roles. Their excellence in the field does not overshadow the wonderful companion these loyal dogs make to any loving owner.

Temperament

A guard dog, the Anatolian Shepherd Dog is very protective of its territory and family, so much so that it will not let anyone else on its master's land unless they have been frequent visitors before. This protective nature makes him naturally suspicious of strangers and socialisation from an early age is advised. They are intelligent dogs and quick to learn. They still have a tendency to think independently, so training can be a problem at times. Consistent training will pay off.
