He is fearless and confrontational with strangers, yet gentle with children and family members. Loyal, patient and devoted to his family, the Dogue de Bordeaux can make an ideal companion and family pet.

The Dogue de Bordeaux was once bred for fighting and guarding. Today the Dogue de Bordeaux has a good, calm temperament around his family and shows extreme devotion to his master. Loyal, patient and very affectionate, the Dogue de Bordeaux can make a good family companion.
