Temperament

The German Wirehaired Pointer is a wonderful companion for a single owner, or for a family if raised with children from puppyhood; affectionate and loyal, the breed makes an excellent choice. Very energetic, it needs a lot of exercise to keep from becoming bored which can make it difficult. It is important to sufficiently socialise and train the breed consistently from a young age, as it can be prone to jealousy.
