Coat
Thick double coat, outer coat is short to medium long, thick, smooth and close lying. The undercoat is thick, short and the buttocks trousered.
Markings
Russet Gold, brownish yellow, stag red, black with tan markings. White markings can be found on the chest patch, muzzle, neck, throat, nape, feet and tip of the tail.
Lifespan
12 - 14 years
They are a fearless breed and loving of their family which makes them an excellent watch and guard dog, a job it takes very seriously. Relaxed around its family, it will happily spend time with them, especially if it includes play.
Temperament
The Austrian Pinscher is happy to be with people familiar to them and will act as a good guard dog around them, and they take this duty very seriously. They are very energetic and love an active lifestyle. They are very amenable to training, which should be started at an early age. Positive and extensive socialisation from a young age is essential to instil good behaviours.
