Resourceful and clever, the Billy is a hound of acute scent, making him a remarkable tracker and hunter. The Billy remains a keen tracker in France and is well known for his very pleasant, harmonious voice.

Temperament

The Billy is intelligent, resourceful and clever; combined with his acute sense of smell this makes the breed an excellent hunter of large game. The Billy is best suited living as a pack hound, although he has been known to be quarrelsome or argumentative with pack members, but this does not interrupt his performance whilst out on the hunt.
