Temperament

The breed is affectionate towards its family and thrives on the companionship of its owners, forming a strong bond with them. This is a breed that does not like to be left on its own and requires constant companionship. They are initially wary of unfamiliar people. They can be serious in their outlook on life and can have a tendency to be overly timid and intimidated by the world, but if they are looked after well and encouraged positively not to be scared, they are playful and vivacious. They need to be socialised from an early age to help them overcome their potential shyness and allow their friendly nature to shine through. Their training should be gentle and positive.
