Coat
On the head, hair is short and fine; on the body it is longer with an undercoat providing protection, well-feathered ears, chest, abdomen and legs. All hair is silky and flat or slightly wavy.
Markings
Black, other solid colours, two or more solid well-broken colours. Some white markings can be found on the black and other block coloured varieties, tan points found on all varieties above the eyes on the side of muzzle, underside of the ears, on feet and legs, under the tail and on the chest.

Average 10-12 years
Not only does it have a great disposition but the Cocker Spaniel is also a beautiful looking dog with an intelligence that makes it suited to life as a companion or as a gun dog, and has equally been known to perform well as a watch dog.
