Straight and close. In winter the undercoat is dense and the top coat is of thick guard hairs all over the body.

Yellowish-grey to silver-grey and dark grey. Light mask, light hair on the underside of the neck and forechest.

The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is a beautiful breed of dog that has a Wolf like coat. They are very intelligent dogs that have the ability to learn quickly and retain information extremely well. The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog will try and communicate with you in other ways than barking for attention.
Temperament
The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is an active breed with good endurance and enjoys being outside and on the move. They are docile yet quick to react, fearless, loyal and very versatile in their uses. They are extremely suspicious by nature though tremendously loyal to their owners. Their natural abilities enable them to make very good guard and defence dogs. Early socialisation and consistent training are essential, however these dogs must see that they have a purpose as they will not respond well to aimless or repetitive training.
