Coat
Dense, wiry texture. Longer hair on the shoulders and withers with the back and quarters hair harsher than the side, and with longer hair on the jaw.

White with black, black and tan, or tan markings.

Above average, 12-15 yrs
Unlike many terriers they are fantastic companions for children; they are patient, protective and have a love of playing. They form a strong bond with their family and make great companions.
Temperament
A lovable alert dog that is happy with all people but loyal to very few; whilst not as obedient as other breeds they do respond to firm, consistent training. Intelligent dogs that cannot hide their natural instinct to hunt and will often go after rabbits or foxes if they are spotted, even sometimes after the occasional cat. In a home situation they are very playful and would happily play all day, making use of their abundance of energy.
