Coat
Fairly coarse top coat that is wavy and slightly stiff; the undercoat is finer and downy. There is shorter, dense, smooth hair on the head, ears, feet, hind legs and forelegs. The coat is feathered on the back of the legs and the neck has a ruff.

They are very independent dogs and need good, firm training from a young age, coupled with sufficient socialising as they naturally can be very wary of strangers. They need to be supervised and socialised with children from early puppyhood.
