Coat
Head and front of limbs covered by short, smooth straight hair. On the rest of the body the hair is dense and wavy. In some areas, cow licks and ridges occur.
Markings
Fawn, black, blue-merle, ash, brown and white. White patch on the chest and small white markings on the toes.
Lifespan
13-14 years
They are very intelligent and can learn very quickly, thereby lending themselves to many different tasks. They are very loyal to their family, forming a strong bond with them quickly and with this bond you not only get a wonderful companion but also a fantastic guard dog.
Temperament
The Mudi is a breed full of courage; they are watchful, lively and have a desire to work. They are at their best when given a task to do. They have a preference to comply with one master. They are agile, adaptable and versatile; known to work as a drug detection dog and a patrol and guard dog. They bond well with their family but tend to have a favourite who should be a firm leader. They respond very well to training, capable of learning quickly and will readily retain the information taught. Socialisation from a young age is essential.
