Black and tan, brown and tan, and red. Tan markings are positioned over the eyes, on the muzzle, on the front part of the neck, on the forechest, the lower part of the limbs, behind and inside the thighs, around the anus and on the underside of the tail. Small white marks on the toes and the chest are permitted.

Courageous and brave, the Polish Hunting Dog is wary of strangers and makes an excellent guard dog. This is an intelligent breed that is easy to educate. At home the Polish Hunting Dog is calm and gentle, making the perfect companion and family pet.
Temperament
The Polish Mountain Dog is energetic and loving. It is alert and intelligent with a calm temperament. A good herding dog and excellent flock guardian it is courageous and agile. Very affectionate to its family it will protect them and its territory. The Polish Mountain Dog requires early socialisation and gentle but consistent training, it does not respond well to harsh handling.
