A double coat, the top coat is long and straight, with the undercoat short, thick and cotton wool like. The head, legs, feet covered by short velvet-like hair.

The Pomeranian is a beautiful dog and very popular due to its loving, intelligent nature. A tendency to be reserved around strangers makes them excellent watchdogs. Can be wilful and temperamental; their brave nature can lead to problems as they have no problems standing up for themselves or their owners, even when the opponent is much larger.
