Coat
Two types of coat: Smooth-haired - Short, close lying, shiny, with no undercoat. Long-haired - Body covered in 3-5 cm long, straight or slightly wavy hair. Hair on the head is shorter and closer lying. Hair covers the toes completely. The ears are covered by thick, long hair, forming a fringe.
Markings
Black and tan, brown and tan, blue and tan, red of any shade with or without black or brown overlay with no markings.

Average 12-14 years

The Russian Toy is a very intelligent breed of dog that loves its family and master with all its heart. Active and happy, this breed can be brave and will stand up for itself. There is a marked difference between the behaviour in males and females. Consistent training and early socialisation will produce the best results for this lovely companion dog.
