They are very intelligent animals as well as being very receptive to what its master has to say. A muscular breed with a beautiful coat and face. The Saint Miguel Cattle Dog displays strength and compassion to those it loves.
Temperament
The Saint Miguel Cattle Dog is a serious canine that is inherently aggressive as is required to be deal with cows and potential predators. When carrying out their duties driving the herd it bites low, though when a cow strays from the herd they may bite higher. They are very intelligent, quick to learn being reactive and responsive to their herding and guarding tasks. They display total loyalty to their owners and act as an excellent guard dog for them and their property.
