Its slim frame makes the dog extremely quick, a natural athlete and an excellent hunter which no amount of training seems able to completely tame. Out of a situation where they can hunt, Salukis are a pleasant breed; their non-aggressive nature with humans can make them warm, friendly companions.

Temperament

The Saluki is an affectionate dog who may become very attached to one person and remains very loyal him or her. A high-strung breed that requires very sensitive handling, its training needs to be done with love and affection. Its strong natural hunting instinct will prevail, and the Saluki should not be left unattended with non-canine pets.
