Coat

Longer, harsh outer coat and a softer, compact undercoat. The coat forms a ruff around the neck and shoulders, framing the head. The hair around the legs forms trousers and the tail is amply coated.

Pure white, cream, or white with biscuit with no markings.

Above average, 12-15 years

A peaceful breed that displays a high level of intelligence, Samoyeds are also an affectionate, easy-going companion for a single person or family.

Temperament

A very friendly breed, the Samoyed goes about its business in a peaceful and purposeful way. An excellent temperament means that these dogs get on with everyone. They have a tendency to become bored easily and can revert to chewing anything. They also tend to be enthusiastic barkers. Initially resistant to training, continuous, firm training from a young age will be effective.
