Temperament
The Scottish Terrier is a lively, brave little dog. It can be affectionate to the point of infatuation whilst also being very independent. It will not back down from anyone or anything, defending itself and its family in the face of extreme danger. The breed can be very wilful and clear boundaries need to be established from puppyhood. Scottish Terriers are independent thinkers and will often do what they think is the right thing instead of what they are required to. Consistent training is needed from a young age with the Scottish Terrier.
