They are talented hunters, trackers, and watchdogs and due to their easy-to-train nature, they are also suited to agility tasks and performing tricks. Their intelligent nature often means that they are able to predict what you want from them before you ask, and do it without being prompted.

The Welsh Terrier is a loyal breed and, unlike other terriers, they are not quarrelsome at all. They are energetic and always happy to play if the opportunity arises. They tend to be shy around strangers and socialising from a young age is necessary to stop them becoming too timid as they grow older.
